Rockin’ around the Holiday Angel Tree
The Rocking Horse Center
At Rocking Horse Center, they believe there is magic to be created with small acts of love, kindness and attention. Filled with the holiday spirit and thankfulness for our good fortune, Rocking was happy to host the Annual Holiday Angel Tree Open House on November 11th in the Center’s new two-story addition. The Holiday Angel Trees were decorated with descriptive cards, profiling our most in-need pediatric patients. By choosing a card off the tree and registering with our Santa’s Helpers, the more than 100 community members in attendance adopted children and families to help make a few of their holiday dreams come true.
With the sweet sounds of the Springfield High School chamber choir in the background, open house visitors munched on homemade cookies provided by the Rocking Horse Center staff and enjoyed performances by the Ohio Performing Arts Institute Nutcracker Dancers and the Project Jericho Bucket Band. Presiding over the festivities, Santa and Mrs. Claus and the Champion City Kings mascot Fastpaw marveled as more than 300 names were chosen off the tree that evening. Nearly 400 children have been adopted this season overall.
Rocking Horse Center is still accepting new toys, coats, hats, gloves, mittens and scarves to share with thier patients. Please contact Kim at 324-1111 ext 110 to make a donation. Thank you for helping to raise healthy families in a caring community!
